Samsung to Offer Galaxy Smartphones on Subscription Without Purchase

Samsung has announced plans to expand its AI Subscription Club, initially launched in South Korea last month, to include Galaxy smartphones and tablets. This innovative service allows customers to rent Samsung devices through a subscription plan without committing to a full purchase.

Currently, the subscription service provides access to home appliances, such as TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines, for a monthly fee. With the addition of smartphones, users can now experience flagship devices like Galaxy phones before making a purchase decision.

Han Jong-Hee, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics, revealed that the service will roll out Galaxy smartphones starting next month. Furthermore, the company plans to include its smart robot assistant, Ballie, later this year.

While the service is currently available only in South Korea, Samsung has not confirmed its expansion to other markets. However, more details are expected to be unveiled during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event on January 22, where the company will also introduce the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 series and other products.

This move aligns with Samsung’s vision of offering “Devices as a Service” (DaaS), providing flexible options for users to try devices before purchasing.

Samsung is also set to release Ballie, its smart AI-powered assistant robot, five years after its initial debut. The launch will begin in South Korea and the United States, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence into daily life.

With this bold strategy, Samsung is redefining how users interact with and experience cutting-edge technology.
