Apple Set to Launch New Affordable Apple Watch SE and Updates to Other Models

According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to roll out comprehensive updates to its smartwatch lineup this year, including a new model of the Apple Watch SE, alongside updates to the 11th generation of the standard Apple Watch and the third generation of the Apple Watch Ultra.

The upcoming Apple Watch SE is expected to receive a complete redesign, although specific details remain under wraps. The first Apple Watch SE was launched in 2020 with a design inspired by the Apple Watch Series 4 from 2018. The new model may draw design elements from the Apple Watch Series 7 (2021), or could feature an entirely fresh look.

Earlier reports suggest the new Apple Watch SE could feature a plastic body with a range of vibrant colors, making it an appealing option for a younger audience. Potential buyers are advised to wait for the updated version, as it promises to offer new design elements and features.

Regarding Apple’s premium models, the Apple Watch Ultra and the standard Apple Watch will likely keep their current exterior design with minimal changes. The focus will shift to enhancing technical and health features.

The third-generation Apple Watch Ultra is expected to support satellite connectivity and 5G RedCap for better cellular network performance. It will also feature a blood pressure monitoring function, alerting users about potential hypertension, although it will not offer precise readings.

Apple had initially planned to introduce blood pressure monitoring with the 10th generation Apple Watch, but the feature was delayed due to challenges with the watch’s slim design.

In addition to the updates for the watches, Apple is reportedly working on a new AI-powered training service and a health app, which may launch alongside the new AirPods with heart rate monitoring capabilities.

If the rumors are true, 2025 will be a significant year for Apple Watches, with comprehensive updates across all models—something Apple hasn’t done since 2022. Full details are expected to be revealed later this year.
