Recent reports reveal that the alarm app on iPhones continues to experience persistent problems, leaving users frustrated.
Apple acknowledged issues with the default alarm app earlier this year, following a wave of customer complaints in April. While the tech giant assured users that it was working on a fix, the complaints have not ceased, raising concerns among its customer base.
These alarm issues significantly disrupt users’ daily schedules, with many citing missed appointments and delays caused by the app’s malfunctioning.
According to a report by Android Authority, citing Reddit users, the alarm either goes off at incorrect times or fails to produce sound or vibrations despite being set correctly.
Although the problem is most commonly reported by users running iOS 17, it has also been observed on devices updated to iOS 18.
Some users have attempted to disable the “Attention Awareness Features” in their iPhone settings. This feature lowers the alarm volume if the phone detects the user’s face. However, this workaround is only partially effective and results in the loss of other functionalities, such as displaying full notifications on the lock screen.
Despite repeated requests for clarification, Apple has yet to issue an official statement addressing the continued alarm app problems.
In response to these issues, many users are resorting to alternative solutions, such as setting alarms on backup phones or using third-party alarm apps to ensure reliability.
